Winter Terrace at Gaucho Broadgate Review
Cosy up on Gaucho’s Winter Terrace
Recently Karl and I headed to Gaucho Broadgate to try their brand new late night menu and fabulous new winter cocktails on their sparkly winter terrace by Chandon.
To celebrate the fabulous new late night menu, Gaucho Broadgate and Chandon Sparkling Wine have reopened their winter terrace. Trust me, Gaucho Broadgate is where you want to spend your evenings this season. It’s the perfect spot for a dinner date (or first date!) or just somewhere to relax this winter’s eve.
We cosied up in the heated terrace under the twinkling lights with hot water bottles and a hot toddy each. Gaucho’s ‘Hot Toddy’ (£9.95) is a fiery mix of 10 year Glenmorangie blended with fresh lemon, honey, orange marinade and cloves. The perfect warming drink to kick off the evening.
As we enjoyed our Hot Toddy’s we were also able to sample some of the new late night menu. We gorged upon tasty Argentinian treats such as Choripan (£18.95 for two) which is Argentine chorizo sausage in toasted ciabatta with chimichurri as well as Chicken Milanesa served with Caesar salad (£12.95) and the Sausage platter which offers a selection of specialist homemade sausages.
Our joint favourite had to be the Beef Empanada – Hand diced beef, red peppers, raisins, Spanish onions and cumin priced at £4.50.
The late night menu offers dishes to suit your appetite as well as your budget with dishes starting from £4.50. If you have a sweet tooth there is also a great dessert selection including Banana and coconut mess (£6.50). Sadly we were too full to try this but it sounds incredible: Dulce de leche with meringue, honeycomb and cream!
The chips with Chimichurri vinegar (£4.50) were absolutely gorgeous and great to nibble on with the cocktails in hand.
Of course you have to wash down those nibbles, so we also tried some Chandon cocktails. We fell in love with the ‘Pina Spritz’ (£10.95) a refreshing mix of Elderflower cordial, Chandon and a slice of fresh pineapple. I don’t think I can express how delicious this cocktail was, we were both in awe!
We also enjoyed a Bariloche cocktail, Gin and lime topped with Chandon and garnished with cucumber. This was a little stronger but still oh so delicious (£10.95).
Sometimes it’s hard to find good quality food late night in London. Luckily at Gaucho Broadgate, the kitchens will remain open after the traditional normal service ends, with the special late night menu beginning at 10.30pm – 1.30am Wednesday nights to Saturday nights.
Gaucho is easily accessible from Liverpool Street station (exit 4 for Broadgate).
