The Best Drinks for Dry January
Dry January is almost over! YES!
We’re over halfway through so why not treat yourself to a delicious teetotal beverage, I’ve rounded up my favourites below.
Bubble Pearl Drinks at Royal China
At Royal China restaurants enjoy an exotic Bubble Pearl beverage (£5.80) made with fresh fruit. With a rainbow of refreshing real fruit flavours available, such as lychee, passion fruit and strawberry.
The Royal China Group consists of six of London’s most authentic and prestigious Chinese restaurants, including the luxurious and critically-acclaimed Royal China Club.
The Virgin Vera at The Arch London
Not all of the best cocktails have to contain alcohol! Indulge – without the worry of over indulging – with The Virgin Vera at The Arch London, one of London’s finest contemporary boutique hotels.
The Virgin Vera (£7) is made from muddled Fresh Lime and Raspberries, Aloe Vera Water and Guava Juice served over crushed ice. The mineral-rich juice is tipped to be the new must-have health drink, due to astonishing benefits, which include lowering cholesterol, aiding weight loss, combating bloating and indigestion, strengthening the immune system, and even easing general discomfort.
To make the Virgin Vera yourself add two raspberries muddled with fresh lime juice. Then add Aloe Vera and guava juice, which is then shaken and served in a chilled Martini glass
Virgin Colada at Nipa Thai
Treat yourself to an enticing mix of fresh pineapple, pineapple juice and coconut ice-cream (£5) for a guilt-free taste of summer. Embrace the satisfaction of an irresistibly creamy Piña Colada without the hangover whilst enjoying the views of Hyde Park from Nipa Thai.
The award-winning Nipa Thai, at the iconic mid-century Lancaster London, has received the prestigious “Thai Select” award from the Thai Government for its authentic cuisine. It is renowned as one of London’s best Thai restaurants, with dishes created by the all-lady kitchen brigade managed by Head Chef Sanguan Parr.
Or you can make this yourself by blending the pineapple juice and one big scoop of coconut ice-cream until smooth and creamy. Finish with some triangular segments of fresh pineapple. Serve in a chilled cocktail glass.
Gnome’s Juice, Studio Bar at K West Hotel & Spa
Head to west London to try Studio Bar’s mythical mocktail; a curious concoction of muddled strawberries, cranberry juice and mellow strawberry puree. Gnome’s Juice (£7) is a delectable way to avoid the evil spirits that conjure up horrific hangovers the next day!
Formerly the BBC Building Kensington House in the 60s, an endless list of Rock ‘N’ Roll royalty has stayed, played and misbehaved at K West Hotel & Spa – Bob Marley and the Wailers, Bowie, The Kinks and Roxy Music to name a few. On the ground floor by the entrance, The Studio Bar has a moody, music-infused atmosphere, perfect for socialising and chilling out.
Did you know that Kopparberg have an Alcohol Free range?
The range features the same fruit flavours of apples, strawberries, pears and blackcurrants and raspberries just like the alcoholic version – trust me you cannot tell the difference. Enjoy a cider without the hangover – perfect!
Kopparberg Alcohol Free is available in three thirst quenching flavours – Strawberry & Lime, Pear and Mixed Fruit. All variants are available to purchase in 500ml bottles (RSP £1.29) across all major supermarkets.
Dry January encourages drinkers to give up alcohol for a month for a healthy start to the new year whilst raising money for charity.
