NEW: Queen of Hoxton’s Summer Rooftop

The Queen of Hoxton has launched their new summer rooftop so we went to check it out…

Calling all you big kids (and wannabe mermaids!), you HAVE to check out the The Queen of Hoxton‘s new rooftop! The Queen of Hoxton changes the theme of their rooftop twice a year and this summer their new theme takes you to the land of imagination and escapism, where you never have to grow up and nothing is impossible – which seems ideal to me because this adulting stuff is hard work…

The stunning rooftop features the Mermaid Lagoon which is complete with giant seashells to sit back and relax on and a running waterfall. There’s also Cannibal’s Cove with Captain Hooks pirate ship where you can chow down on the Neverland BBQ menu. We went for the jerk chicken burger which was incredible! There’s also Sticky Marmalade Glazed Pork Ribs, Prawns served with Chilli, garlic, lemon and parsley butter on sourdough, and for dessert – Imaginaton Pie! This is a brightly coloured vanilla cheesecake with a hidden surprise.

There’s also an amazing cocktail menu including Frosecco – frozen prosecco – which I was pretty impressed by. We decided to try the Frosecco and Aperol Spritz Slushie (frosecco topped with aperol and more prosecco!!). These are the ideal drinks for summer and such a great idea as it combines my two favourite drinks – slushies and prosecco. Seriously, why hasn’t anyone come up with this idea sooner!? For the tequila fans, there’s frozen tequila too so don’t worry!

Other incredible drinks on the menu include Mermaid on the Beach – a colourful drink mixed with frozen coconut rum, peach liquor, vodka, and orange liquor, orange and cranberry juice. There’s also a Blueberry Shadow Gin Sour – a blend of fresh berry sour containing blueberry liquor and gin, egg white and fresh lemon. For the daring there’s the The Green-Eyed Fairy containing melon, elderflower, lemon juice, creole bitters and Absinthe.

When we went there was also the opportunity to undergo a mermaid makeover which is SO me. Any excuse to wear blue lipstick and cover my face in pink and blue and glitter then I am there!

There’s also some really exciting events on at the rooftop too so you can really escape to Neverland…
