LG #LookGood LFW Event

I’m an official LFW blogger for LG!

LG is the official Garment Care Supplier for London Fashion Week.

They supply a Steam Team of garment care professionals backstage at the LFW shows. They make sure that the collections are fresh, crease-free and ready for the runway!

LG has partnered with artist Ben Allen to create washing label symbols into works of art. I went to their pre-LFW event reveal the artwork and I also got to style a mannequin based for the ‘dry clean’ symbol.

Here is the dress I styled my mannequin in, also pictured above. It was an absolute honour to have the opportunity to style a mannequin for the event and this Reiss dress is stunning!

Earlier this year LG ran a survey that revealed 9% of Brits fail to identify the common garment care symbols. £2 billion of clothing is ruined every year in the UK and LG want to put garment care back on the agenda with their new project.

To create awareness Ben developed a collection of eight artworks for washing symbols which frequently appear in the wash instructions of our clothing. The resulting factor of not understanding these garment care symbols is billions of £££s in damage to our clothes each year. Ben and LG hope that the art will raise awareness of the symbols, and encourage people to care and extend the lifetime for their clothes.

To the left of my styled mannequin is the dry clean garment care symbol. Before becoming involved in the campaign I didn’t know the symbol for dry clean!

Limited Edition washing machines with Ben Allen’s design on are now available at John Lewis! There’s a competition to win one here.

For those of you who didn’t know the garment care symbols, see below!
