Ibis Styles Liverpool Review
Updated: Dec 28, 2019
A weekend away in Liverpool.
During our recent visit to Liverpool we stayed at 3 star Ibis Styles Liverpool Dale St. The hotel offers stylish boutique accommodation at budget prices (rooms start from around £50).
The hotel was perfect for us as it is well-located in the heart of Liverpool. We arrived by train from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street which is about a 10 minute walk away and it was really easy to find. It’s also really close by to all the local attractions, for example the main shopping area (including Liverpool One) and Mathew Street are just minutes away and Albert Dock and Liverpool Echo Arena are 10 minutes away.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly smiley staff and the check in was super fast and efficient. We were even able to get to our room before the 3pm check in time.
The hotel is very modern throughout and each room has a contactless key card system. You’ll need to have your room key handy as it is required for the lift from the ground floor and for the main entrance late at night.
Our view from our room.
Our room had a luxurious feel, you wouldn’t think you are staying in a three-star budget hotel! The room was fresh and bright with sharp white linen and a stylish contemporary design. I loved the monochrome decor in our room which was complete with The Beatles inspired ‘Abbey Road’ sign.
Our rooms provided us with all of the necessities: tea and coffee making facilities, air con, free wifi, shampoo and shower gel and a hairdryer – always a must-have in a hotel room as it saves lugging along with you! The plug sockets were right next to the mirrors too, I actually find many hotels don’t have this which can be such a pain when doing your hair.
Our room had brilliant lighting too which was perfect for getting ready and for Instagram selfies, of course.
The bathroom was a great size with amazing mirror lighting. The shower was very powerful and was the perfect temperature – there’s nothing worse than a poor pressure hotel shower, which is actually really common in hotels!
Ibis Styles have hotels across the world and each are individually designed. This particular Ibis Styles of course pays homage to The Beatles through their funky furnishings. The hotel design is influenced by The Beatles lyrics.
The hotel is intimate with a stylish and inviting exterior. I adored the bright and colourful design throughout the hotel with the quirky cassette tape table and the hot pink furniture, which is right up my street!
You can see how much has gone into the design with small details added to everything.
The design sticks to the music theme throughout the hotel with the cassette tape and CDs on the wall behind the bar.
The service was amazing throughout, a friendly greeting on arrival can really make a difference to your whole stay. Everyone we encountered during our stay were delightful and so cheery.
I had the most amazing relaxing weekend in Liverpool. Our room was SO quiet and the bed was so cosy. Each room has an Ibis Sweet Bed with plump and fluffy pillows, it was so difficult getting up in the morning but I wanted to make the most of breakfast!
The hotel is so chilled and we felt so relaxed throughout our visit. They have everything available to make sure you have a relaxing stay including umbrellas (which came in handy during a sudden down pour during our stay) and complimentary tea and coffee in the bar for all guests.
We were really excited about breakfast and had high expectations as we’ve stayed at a few Ibis hotels before. The hotel has a great all-you-can-eat continental breakfast spread with a variety of meats and cheeses as well as croissants and pancakes for those like me with a sweet tooth.
There was a variety of fruit, toast with spreads, yoghurts, fruit juices, smoothies and hot drinks. The chocolate milk was probably the best I have ever had. Breakfast was great, we were just slightly disappointed about the lack of a cooked breakfast buffet though.
Breakfast is served 6.30-10am Monday to Friday and 6.30-11am weekends. I loved that breakfast was served for such a long period, perfect if you need to get up early or want to make the most of your time off by sleeping in!
(Above) There were even Aircharge phone charger points at the bar which came in handy.
Breakfast is a chocoholics paradise with pain du chocolats, hot chocolate, chocolate milk and nutella!
We had an amazing stay and I’d highly recommend staying here if visiting the city. I’m already planning a trip back to Liverpool this summer so see you again soon Ibis Styles…
