Classics on the Canal with Qcumber
Would you believe me if I said that there is place in London where you can sit back and escape the hustle and bustle of city life, sip cocktails for three hours and only spend £12.
Yes I didn’t believe it existed in London either until I tried it out myself last week.
I’m talking the Qcumber’s Classics on the Canal pop up.
With the green carpet laid out we all hopped aboard The Electric Barge for an exclusive evening with Qcumber.
On arrival we were served a QCumber and gin or vodka, a very pleasant and refreshing welcome.
But that was just the start. We were in for a whirlwind of a night.
We enjoyed a literary taste sensation along the Grand Union Canal as the night is inspired by classic works of English literature with a selection of concoctions inspired by works such as The Importance of Being Earnest, Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Wind in the Willows and Pride and Prejudice. We were told how each classic was carefully analysed and how they inspired the mixologists to pick each ingredient for the cocktails.
Along the canal the views were fantastic and the weather was beautiful. The three hour round trip kicks off at 6.30pm and floating cocktail bar takes you on a journey from Paddington onto Little Venice, then East along the Regent’s Canal, a quick stop through London Zoo and onto Camden Lock, before heading back to Paddington. I saw parts of London I’d never seen before, I felt like I had escaped out to the country for a few hours. It was idyllic.
But what is Qcumber?
Qcumber is a uniquely blended soft drink that combines natural cucumber essence and gently sparkling spring water to produce a subtle, yet distinctive taste that both refreshes and cleanses the palate.
What I love about Qcumber is that it is a family run business and we got to meet those behind it. It was a lovely intimate evening and it was so nice to hear more about the brand and those behind it.
We sampled The Importance of Being Earnest, Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Wind in the Willows and Pride and Prejudice. The gin based cocktails were so refreshing, so summery and too easy to drink! The drinks are infused with unusual ingredients such as muddle Granny Smith apples and raspberry jam. As well as the original Qcumber drink we also got the chance to sample their new mixes – Qcumber and Ginger and Qcumber and Mint.
The best bit is that you can experience it yourself for just £12.

If you are a fan of a tipple or two and want to escape the hectic life of London (but not actually leave it) then I highly recommend a trip along the canal with Qcumber.

Thank you QCumber for a fantastic evening, I hope to join you all again soon!
