Bubble Tea at Chatime Soho

I popped my Bubble Tea cherry…

If you haven’t heard of Bubble Tea then where have you been? Bubble Tea cafes have popped up everywhere in London (excuse the pun) and I have been dying to get my fix for a while. The long queues out of each shop prove just how good it must be!

On a chilly April afternoon we headed to Chatime in Soho to try Bubble Tea for the first time. Conveniently located opposite my favourite restaurant (The Stockpot) and right next to Cambridge Circus. The cafe is small but has a little seated area, cutely decorated with cushions where you can just sit, chill and sip away. Chatime serves traditional Taiwanese tea with a huge selection of delicious flavours.

You can choose from a variety including fresh tea, fruit tea, milk tea, mousse, smoothie, juice and coffee. These can be hot or cold, with or without ice or sugar and you can choose from a variety of toppings.

We went for the Chatime Milk Tea with Pearls, Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly, Hawaiian Fruit Tea with Coconut Jelly and Mango Smoothie with Fruit Jelly. The Hawaiian Fruit Tea and Roasted Milk Tea were my definite favourites, so refreshing and so tasty. But beware, the jelly can be a bit of a surprise, I wasn’t too fussed though. Chatime Soho is open until 11pm so I definitely know where I’ll be stopping on my way home from the West End next weekend! Chatime also have branches in Chinatown, The Brunswick and Portobello Road and Nottingham. Working so close to Portobello road I will definitely be making another visit. I’m craving a Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly as I type…

& here is what I wore for a chilled out Sunday in the West End…
